Extending the Reach and Impact of Donation Dollars
The U.S. RMHC Scholarship Program is designed to provide financial assistance to eligible graduating high school seniors who face limited access to educational and career opportunities. Students are selected and awards are distributed based on demonstrated academic achievement, financial need and community involvement. Additional selection criteria may be specified by the respective participating local RMHC Chapter based on strategic goals and community needs.

To apply for a RMHC Scholarship, a student must: Be a high school senior, be younger than 21 years old, be eligible to attend a two- or four-year college or university with a full course of study, Be a legal U.S. resident, Live in a participating local RMHC Chapter’s geographic area, Please obtain an application from your high school counselor and submit along with all required documentation by deadline.
In 1985, Richard Castro, a local El Paso McDonald’s owner/operator, created The HACER scholarship program which has been expanded throughout the years to include three other programs.
Proceeds from the canisters located inside the McDonald’s restaurants and at the drive-thru windows help fund the Scholarship program.
